Job Summary:
We are hiring a hands-on, detail-oriented
PLC Technician
to support the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance of the
Battery Disconnecting Unit (BDU) production assembly line
in our automotive production facility. The ideal candidate will work closely with engineers, maintenance personnel, and production teams to ensure smooth and reliable operation of PLC-controlled systems and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the
installation and commissioning
of the BDU automatic assembly line and related automation systems. - Perform
routine maintenance, diagnostics, and troubleshooting
of PLC systems and peripheral devices (sensors, actuators, HMI panels). - Support
startup and testing
of new equipment to ensure PLC programs and logic function as designed. - Monitor and adjust
PLC logic
(ladder logic, function blocks, etc.) under supervision or according to established procedures. - Identify and replace faulty components (I/O modules, relays, cabling, etc.) to restore line functionality quickly.
- Support the integration of
PLC systems with robotics, vision systems, and end-of-line testing equipment
. - Document all maintenance and modifications to control systems, following plant standards.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement
continuous improvements in
on-line performance, uptime, and safety. - Follow and enforce all
health, safety, and quality regulations
, especially during equipment servicing.
Requirements:
- Technical diploma or certification in
Electrical, Mechatronics, or Industrial Automation
. - 2+ years of hands-on experience
with PLC systems in a manufacturing or automation environment. - Familiarity with common PLC platforms such as
Allen-Bradley (RSLogix 5000/Studio 5000)
,
Siemens (TIA Portal)
, or equivalent. - Solid understanding of
electrical schematics
, I/O devices, industrial sensors, and actuators. - Experience with
HMI operations and basic troubleshooting
. - Ability to work from
wiring diagrams and control panel layouts
. - Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose electrical and automation-related faults.
- Willingness to work
shifts, weekends, or on-call
as required during line setup and production support.
Preferred Skills (Not Required):
- Experience in
automotive production environments
or automated assembly lines. - Exposure to
robotics integration
, vision systems, or automated testing systems. - Knowledge of
industrial safety systems
(e.g., safety relays, emergency stops, light curtains). - Basic knowledge of
SCADA or MES interfaces
