We're now hiring for a hybrid data role—part data engineer, part data analyst. You don't need to be an expert in both, but you should be excellent at one and eager to learn the other.

These are often treated as separate tracks, but we think that's a mistake. Doing one without understanding the other misses the big picture—and the business incentive behind it.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Make sure the data pipelines are free of gremlins
  • Independent decision making
  • Think about the end-to-end product and business needs
  • Figuring out the right questions to ask.
  • Use your human intelligence to figure out what's the right way to look at the data. Building 100 charts is easy, figuring out the most important ones is harder.
  • Adaptable to changing priorities. Most of the time, they will change because of your findings :)

What we're looking for?

  • Keeping the SQL nice & tidy. Nobody likes to read >200 lines SQL models.
  • ELT, ETL, LET & all the ABCs in between
  • Someone that knows about DBT, Airflow, Airbyte, Fivetran, Looker, Tableau, the semantic layer and a bunch of other tools that keep springing up like mushrooms after the rain.
  • Someone that prefers open source & portable solutions vs being locked in a vendor's specific technology. Their marketing and ease of use is strong, but we know better
  • At least 3-5 years experience in propagating bad data (& then fixing it)
  • Analytical mindset
  • You can clearly communicate your findings depending on the audience - your technical lead, the CEO and a 5 year old all have different expectations (& questions in their mind)

  • Pivoting like a mad man in Excel or any R/Python BIA wizardry
