The Head of Strategic People Business Partners leads the team of People Business Partners supporting UNIQA's Austrian and Group business units. This role ensures that the People strategy and business strategy are seamlessly connected — delivering measurable impact on performance, culture and leadership effectiveness.
As part of the Group People Function Leadership Team, the role partners closely with the Group Chief People Officer (GCPO) and Head of People Austria Operations to drive UNIQA's ONE People function ambition.
Your responsabilities:
- Strategic People Partnership: Serve as the senior advisor to Austrian and Group business leaders, translating business goals into a forward-looking People agenda by proactively shaping organizational strategy, workforce planning and leadership development and by alignment of business priorities with Group People strategies.
- Organizational Development & Transformation: Co-lead the design and implementation of organizational structures, governance and capability frameworks across Austria and Group units and supporting transformation projects.
- Talent, Leadership & Workforce Planning: Oversee the talent and succession planning process across Austria and Group business units, ensuring leadership continuity and development of critical capabilities.
- Culture & Employee Experience: Acting as a visible sponsor of UNIQA's leadership principles, values, and desired culture across all business areas.
- Cross-Functional & Cross-Country Collaboration: Acting as a key bridge between Group People Centers of Expertise, Country People Teams, and Business Units and ensuring alignment and collaboration with People AT Operations on operational excellence, compliance, and employee services.
- Governance & Representation: Represent the Strategic People Business Partner function in Group People governance and leadership forums and ensure adherence to governance, ethics and compliance standards across all business partner activities.
- Leadership & Team Development: Lead, develop and empower the Strategic People Business Partner team across Austria and selected Group Business Units and foster a high-performing, collaborative team culture. Ensure clear role design, coaching and ongoing professional development for all PBPs to strengthen strategic HR capability across the organization.
Required skills:
- Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Law, Psychology or a related field.
- 12+ years of HR experience with at least 5 years in a senior HR Business Partner or leadership position in an international or matrixed environment.
- Proven track record of leading strategic HR teams and driving business transformation.
- Deep understanding of organizational development, leadership development and workforce strategy.
- Solid knowledge of Austrian labor law and familiarity with other European markets is an advantage.
- Strategic and inclusive Leadership: Able to connect business strategy with People strategy, empowers others and fosters collaboration.
- Influence & Partnership: Excellent communicator and trusted advisor to senior executives.
