The Role

We are looking for a UK Financial Controller to join at this exciting time as we continue to grow. This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to work in a fast paced, growing company, which currently has two businesses in the UK Prize Draw sector with the intention of expanding the portfolio.

The role is a crucial one for our continued growth and will report to the Group Head of Finance (based in Bucharest), with direct day to day contact with the CFO in the UK to support the team dynamically.

The candidate will control the finance function of the Competitions and Prize draw segment of the group and will be the main finance contact for internal and external stakeholders on financial matters:

Responsibilities

• Overall financial responsibility for Competitions and Prize Draw segment;
• Manage and drive the monthly consolidated reporting timetable and deliverables of the segment, including key consolidation reconciliations;
• Prepare and present monthly reports and key analysis for the segment management accounts, and the resultant group board pack;
• Support the CFO in the creation of a Group accounting and financial reporting manual, maintaining the Group's financial policies and procedures;
• Collaborate with underlying local finance teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, supporting the teams in all related tasks;
• Preparation of the UK companies' financial statements under FRS 101 and linked narrative reporting to a timetable;
• Management of the segment's budget and cash flow forecasting process along with the Group's FP&A lead;
• Work with tax advisers to deliver the Group's UK current and deferred tax accounting disclosures, and support on the filing of all tax compliance (corporation tax, VAT, RGD etc.);
• Assist in the group audit process, acting as the main point of contact on any financial reporting queries in respect of the Prize Draw segment;
• Daily monitoring of cash and other treasury management functions, including liaising with the Group's FX brokers to manage currency risk;
• Leading ad hoc financial reporting projects for various internal and external stakeholders' needs, including due diligence on M&A targets; and
• Assist with other projects as necessary, working with global teams to standardise processes and controls that are appropriate for a listed environment.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

• ACA/ACCA or equivalent accountancy qualification with at least 3 years' post-qualification experience;
• 'Top Ten' audit firm qualified;
• Strong references;
• Ability to prioritise multiple concurrent workstreams and meet all reporting requirements is crucial;
• Accuracy and attention to detail, whilst using common sense and initiative to provide working solutions to finance and business needs;
• Taking ownership and accountability for all relevant financial reporting needs, with proactivity in respect of identifying and assessing the financial reporting treatment of the business' transactions essential; and
• Demonstrated leadership and team management skills and the power to establish and grow strong working relationships with employees across all levels and teams.

Preferred:

• Familiarity with NetSuite
• Familiarity with the Betting & Gaming sector
