Role Description:
Issuer & Member Services IT is a dynamic and expanding team within the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG), supporting one of the Group's key strategic web platforms. This platform, built on AWS, uses modern technologies such as Angular 18, Serverless (AWS Lambda), Docker, DynamoDB, Postgres, Redis, and OpenSearch.

We are seeking a skilled Backend Developer to play a pivotal role in improving the platform's backend system. You will work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Tech Leads to deliver high-quality, scalable, and maintainable solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain backend features using AWS Serverless technologies, ensuring alignment with product requirements and standard methodology.
• Collaborate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Contribute to the definition and adoption of front-end development standards and best practices.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle using tools such as Jira, GitLab, Bitbucket, and Jenkins.
• Support production releases and change management activities, occasionally outside regular UK working hours.

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in backend development.
• Strong proficiency in building backend systems in TypeScript, JavaScript and Node.
• Experience with asynchronous serverless architectures and Object-Oriented patterns.
• Familiarity with AWS services such as AWS Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, SES, DynamoDB.
• Exposure to different storage technologies and how they should be utilised, e.g. Postgres vs OpenSearch.
• Comfortable working in Agile environments with multi-functional teams.
• Superb communication and interpersonal skills.
