The Role

As a
Strategic Buyer
, you will be responsible for the full procurement cycle within your assigned categories. From identifying supplier opportunities and managing negotiations, to securing optimal contractual terms, you'll help shape the sourcing strategy that supports both current projects and future growth.

Working closely with project managers, engineers, and international colleagues, you'll contribute to improving supplier performance, reducing risks, and ensuring procurement activities align with group-wide goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse the market, identify competitive sourcing opportunities, and maintain visibility of qualified suppliers
• Lead supplier selection, negotiation, and contracting processes
• Advise internal stakeholders on procurement options and strategic direction
• Manage procurement risks and drive value across cost, performance, and reliability
• Support procurement reporting and contribute to continuous process improvement
• Ensure local procurement actions align with international procurement objectives

Requirements:

• A university degree in a technical or economic field (supply chain focus is a plus)
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in procurement or a related role
• Sound understanding of supplier management, contracting, and negotiation strategy
• Proficiency in English (spoken and written); Dutch is an advantage
• Comfortable working with ERP systems, Excel, and procurement databases
• Strong sense of ownership, resilience, and adaptability in changing environments
• Financial awareness of procurement impact on project performance
