
Embedded C Software Engineer I Weather Radar Team

We are looking forward to meeting Embedded C Software Engineers, to develop software for Garmin Avionics, including performing software design, development, and testing for OEM and retrofit avionics products.
Currently, we have one opening for the following project:
Weather Radar – in this team you will be responsible for the whole development stack starting with research, design, requirements, development, tools, testing and certification activities for the highly complex Garmin Doppler Weather Radar embedded project. The particularity of this project is the knowledge and usage of signal processing, physics and maths as well as solid C programming and Python knowledge in order to implement and improve state of the art weather detection algorithms.
We believe that collaboration leads to the best ideas, and we rely heavily on team interaction. As a hybrid role based in Cluj-Napoca, this position will require at least 3 days in the office each week.
Requirements
- BSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Math or Physics or another relevant engineering/technical field
- Strong programming skills and knowledge of C
- Experience in low-level programming
- Demonstrates mastery of relevant software engineering tools (configuration management systems, build processes, debuggers, simulators, static code analysis, and logic analyzers)
- Collaborate closely with product teams to integrate new features and technology into product platforms
- Detail-oriented individual with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- At least 3 years of relevant experience
Would be a plus
- Experience with signal processing
- Experience in developing safety-critical software following DO-178B standard
- Strong knowledge of Python 3
- A research oriented mindset
