Hardware Component Strategist

This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a global organisation and contribute to the development and implementation of a generic component strategy for hardware components. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for specifying requirements and selecting components that meet the needs of our products and solutions.

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive component portfolio that aligns with group-wide standards.
• Provide technical support to suppliers and stakeholders to ensure high-quality component delivery.
• Collaborate with product owners to select parts that best meet their requirements and review bill-of-materials.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to define and maintain preferred parts lists, monitor obsolescence, and identify successor solutions. Your analytical and organisational skills will be essential in managing component specifications and data in product database systems.

• Experience in component engineering, preferably in industries such as automotive, aerospace, or rail signalling.
• Strong technical knowledge of passive COTS components.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
