Job Title: Lead Data Engineer

Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled Data Engineering Leader to join our team. This role involves designing and enhancing complex ETL pipelines built in Python, supporting enterprise-scale data systems on Azure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and delivery of new features in the Python-based ETL pipeline.
  • Define and enforce coding standards and engineering best practices aligned with enterprise guidelines.
  • Mentor and guide Data Engineers, fostering knowledge sharing and technical growth.
  • Plan and oversee the maintenance, refactoring, and performance optimization of existing ETL pipelines (Python + Azure Data Factory).
  • Collaborate with stakeholders in architecture, development, rollout, and operations teams, as well as business users, to define and deliver high-impact data solutions.
  • Manage capacity planning and proactive cloud resource optimization across Azure services.
  • Oversee the setup of new service components and ensure alignment with scalability and security objectives.
  • Coordinate operations and maintenance of related software and infrastructure (Azure Synapse, PowerBI, local dev environments).
  • Maintain detailed documentation for service components, processes, and configurations.
  • Monitor service performance and ensure SLA compliance.
  • Support audits and risk assessments related to service delivery.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 5-7 years of experience in data engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience with Python for data processing (Polars, Pandas, PySpark, etc.).
  • 3+ years of experience working with Microsoft Azure cloud services.
  • Strong understanding of modern cloud architecture and service-oriented data engineering.
  • Familiarity with ITIL principles and IT service management concepts.
  • Experience with SaaS-based infrastructure.
  • Excellent analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Strong stakeholder and customer management focus.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to shifting priorities and dynamic environments.
  • Outstanding communication skills in English (written and spoken).
