Senior Java Developer

You will take ownership of designing, developing, and maintaining core features of our cloud-based pre-payroll and payroll platform. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you'll leverage your expertise in Java and cloud technologies to create robust, scalable solutions that meet the needs of our customers.

As a member of one of our scrum teams, you will be responsible for developing new features, base functionality, or fixes for our cloud-based payroll solution.

  • Design and build scalable, efficient backend systems for online payroll and pre-payroll solutions.
  • Perform hands-on development by writing clean, maintainable, and performant code using Java and Kotlin.
  • Collaborate across teams by partnering with product owners, UX, and other teams to align on priorities and deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Enhance system performance by optimizing database queries, improving response times, and scaling backend services efficiently.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Strong understanding of backend architecture, distributed systems, and API design.

5+ years of backend engineering experience (Java, Kotlin).

Experience working with data-intensive applications and optimizing performance.

Strong problem-solving skills and a maker mentality.

Advanced communication skills in English (German language knowledge is a plus).
