Software Development Engineer - Enablement

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Development Engineer to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to leverage your technical expertise to drive business growth and transformation.

This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement software solutions that meet the needs of our customers. You will be responsible for developing supporting materials, providing coaching, and delivering business value directly within varied teams.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from small-scale enhancements to large-scale system implementations. You will be expected to apply your knowledge of modern software engineering techniques, including practices like XP and automated testing (TDD / ATDD) and ways of working like DevOps, agile and lean.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, with experience in languages such as Java, React, and Kotlin. They will also possess excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to coach and mentor others.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Understanding divisional practices and recommending modern software engineering techniques.
  • Developing supporting materials (software, training materials, workshops) to guide adoption and measurement (KPIs).
  • Providing hands-on coaching to support teams in the Enabling Team model (Team Topologies).
  • Delivering business value directly within varied teams (agile engineering and DevOps).
  • Working with the Head of Engineering Enablement to define engineering culture and practice.
Required Skills:
  • Experienced polyglot developer with expertise in modern software engineering techniques.
  • Proven communication and influencing skills with coaching/mentoring experience.
  • Passion and drive to act as a change agent and effect transformation.
  • Cloud experience with GCP and OpenShift is a plus.
  • Exposure to Google's DORA, SPACE, DevEx and similar frameworks is a plus.
  • English language proficiency is required.
