HPC Support Engineer

Eviden, a global leader in digital transformation, seeks a HPC Support Engineer to maintain and optimize computing environments for research institutions, industries, and organizations.

The role involves administration of HPC clusters, including installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software, as well as ensuring the Linux operating system is updated, secure, and optimized for high-performance workloads.

Responsibilities include managing job schedulers, designing and managing backup solutions, interacting with Smart Management Center, and contributing to international projects by providing consultancy on HPC infrastructure architectures.

Capabilities and expertise required include system administration, networking, scripting proficiency, configuration management, and system monitoring.

• Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer HPC clusters, including installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software.
  • Ensure the Linux operating system is updated, secure, and optimized for high-performance workloads.
  • Manage job schedulers to allocate resources efficiently.
  • Design and manage backup solutions for large volumes of data.
  • Interact with Smart Management Center for HPC supercomputer infrastructure management.
  • Contribute to international projects by providing consultancy on HPC infrastructure architectures.
  • Support and maintain technology standards, processes, and policies related to on-prem/cloud Infrastructure.
  • Provide consultancy on HPC infrastructure architectures for on-premises and cloud environments.
• Capabilities and Expertise:
  • System administration with Red Hat expertise.
  • Networking, including configuring and troubleshooting networking setups within HPC clusters.
  • Scripting proficiency using languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl.
  • Configuration management using tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
  • System monitoring using tools like Prometheus, Grafana.
  • Storage management, including familiarity with large-scale storage systems like GPFS, Lustre, or NFS.
• Nice to Have:
  • Supercomputers knowledge and understanding of advanced supercomputing platforms.
  • Experience with submitting jobs in schedulers like LSF, Slurm, GridEngine.
  • Parallel computing expertise, including experience with parallelism, MPI, and OpenMP.
