As a leader in the engineering community, you will play a key role in the continual advancement of our engineering practices and your main mission is to enable your engineers to grow their mastery and get better in what they do every day by using industry best practices.

Your area, Digital Platform Business Banking – has the mission to keep the bank and customers safe while providing the best processes for our customers

Together with your team, you will work on multiple and various projects in the area (local and global road mapping) with the scope to implement the IT strategy of the tribe and evolve the existing ecosystem for Business Bank.

As an IT Chapter LeadLead, motivate & mentor the team and be the team representativeInspire and encourage your Chapter members to develop themselves, providing them coaching on both technical and soft skillsContribute to the technical roadmap and evolve the technical capabilities in the areaContinuous improve the delivery process by learning and adopting latest trends in the industryDetermines, together with the Chapter members, the way of working in his/her IT Chapter and sets standards for the area of expertiseCollaborate and partnership with other Chapter Leads, Product Owner, Architect, and other roles in the bank to oversee the future developments and their deliverablesContribute to the implementation of the Daily strategy. Translate the strategy in terms of the ChapterYour day to day As an Engineer Chapter Lead, you are responsible for leading and inspiring a team of 8 engineers, including performance review, compensation, recruitment, professional development, and you are also a contributor and role model in the team. Recruit, build & lead, motivate & mentor the team and be the team representativePerformance and career path management for members in your teamRole model in the development of your own capability across industry trends, technologies, methodologies, and behavioursDevelop financial and people resource plans for the area, ensuring resources are in place and operating effectively within the technical disciplineHandle delivery – identify, manage and escalate delivery issues and risksHandle delivery – lead projects within the area like POCs, technology upgrades etc.Together to your chapter:Engineering solutions which are highly secure, performant, and maintainableProficient at helping the organisation structure complex engineering issues, aware of different development methodologies, end-to-end testing, Identity and Access Management, IT Risk control, infra provisioning, Change Management, CI/CDBe aware of requirements and underlying feature requests, recommend alternative technical and business approaches and estimate the requirements to meet deadlinesChampion effective adoption of continuous delivery methodology, practice, and attitudes / mindsetsWhat you bring to the teamStrong technical leadership skills, including coaching, consensus building, and ability to effectively manage competing prioritiesStrong capabilities to build internal confidence in a situation of constant changeStrong resilience, constructive and collaborative mindsetWork experience in an Agile organization and proven Agile mind-setStrong knowledge about design patterns and development principlesSolid understanding of cloud technologies/ cloud architecture oriented (preferably Microsoft Azure)Min 5 years of Professional Experience in Java EE 8+ (Java versions) and data structures - included in latest J2EE version (9.1)Good understanding SOA (Service-Oriented Architecture), RESTful and SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) services, REST APIs design and implementationWork experience with Spring / Spring boot / Spring MVCDatabase experience: SQL Server / Oracle / NoSQLDemonstrated experience with CI/CD (preferable Azure DevOps, GitHub etc.)Proven experience with Messages brokers (queues), preferably KafkaExperience and high curiosity in Microservices architecture, Containers orchestration (RedHat OpenShift) and Kubernetes (K8S)Foreign languages: English (proficient)What we offerImpactful work in a fun and collaborative environment;Open-concept offices designed for both team work and relaxation;Corporate events and social gatherings;Hybrid way of working with flexible working schedule and short week options;Monthly budget on Benefit platform;Extra annual leave days depending on the total length of working experience;Growth opportunities through upskilling/ reskilling programs and a variety of learning and development platforms: ING Learning Centre, Udemy, Bookster, as well as through trainings and certifications;Possibility to access Internal roles, International Short-Term Assignments or Long-Term Assignments;Context to make an impact through Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility projects.
