We started out in 2015 as ING's software development hub – a distinct entity from ING Bank Romania – then steadily expanded our range to include more services and competencies.
Formerly known as ING Tech, as of 2022 we provide borderless services with bank-wide capabilities under the name of ING Hubs Romania and operate from two locations: Bucharest and Cluj.
With the help of 1400 engineers, risk and operations professionals, we offer 150 services in tech, non-financial risk & compliance, audit and retail operations to 24 ING units worldwide.
Our tech capabilities remain the core of our business, with more than 1100 colleagues active in Data Management, TouchPoint Channels & Integration and Core Banking.

The Mission
As part of the development towards a "Next Generation Digital Banking Platform", ING Group Services is building a state-of-the-art Data Lake. An ambitious project based on technologies like IBM InfoSphere (DataStage and Information Governance Catalogue), Linux, Cognos and Oracle.
As Dev Engineer you will be working in a scrum team consisting of a product owner, Business Analist Engineers and Dev Engineers. The members of the Tribe are in The Netherlands, India and Romania.
You will be responsible for designing, developing, testing and deploying IBM Information Server artefacts, mainly involving DataStage. Maintaining the applications running in our Data Lake including incident management and bug fixing is also part of your job.

Your day to day
Even if you'll start your day from the comfort of your home or drink your morning coffee in our office's garden, your day will be quite similar when comes to tasks. Here are your daily responsibilities:
Development of ETL flows using IBM Datastage 11.7 / Oracle DBUnderstand the Logical Data Model and Physical Data ModelUnderstand the concepts and the business value of the data that is processedIntegrate data from different source systems in the Information WarehouseBuild Data Marts in alignment with the business needsPerform tests and validate all data flows and prepare all ETL processes according to business requirementsContribute to deployment of code changes, mappings and metadataThe role requires occasional travel to Belgium or NetherlandsWhat you'll bring to the team
Experience:
Tech stack/ knowledge:Mandatory:Experience with ETL processes and toolsExperience with Data Warehouse conceptsGood knowledge of SQL and database conceptsExperience with Linux operating systemExperience with Business Intelligence toolsWiliness to learn and experiment with new technologiesForeign languages: English (advanced)
Education: nice to have Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in an IT related field
