Academic Coordinator

Britanica Learning Centre is hiring an experienced English teacher to join our administrative team in the role of Academic Coordinator for our Young Learner Language Programmes.

You should be energetic, have a can-do attitude and willingness to learn, supportive and caring with your admin colleagues and team of teachers, inquisitive and positive in your overall approach.

With this set of qualities, you will offer support to our accomplished teachers to perform at their best in front of their groups of children.

You should be able to:
Monitor the immersion process of new teachers
Conduct teacher training sessions and mentor language teachers
Observe classes and give adequate feedback to teacher performance
Support the learner placement procedure – give and assess written and oral tests
Assist the recruitment process – telephone and face-to-face interviews, take part in demo lessons and give feedback
Develop and support the creation of new language courses and programmes
Supervise and support the ongoing educational activity of the centre with regard to YL courses.

Experience and Qualification:
more than 3 years of teaching experience to children
graduate from the Faculty of Letters or Foreign Languages
Fluency in English at CEFR C1 level or above
professional development courses in methodology
proven record of mentoring and supporting other teachers.

Skills:
Willingness to alternate office work with field work
Good communication skills in writing, face to face and on the phone
Team player and empathetic with our teachers and the admin staff
Good organisational skills
Can work under pressure
Teaching skills that prove a passion and an interest in the on-going professional development
